Advantages: Great for Summer, Girly

Disadvantages: Not her best album

Having had all of her albums before, I knew that I had to have this one. I love Sheryl Crow’s individual style and she is really original. That also made me kind of scared to buy this album, as all the others were amazing – The Globe Sessions being my fave. I had heard the song Soak up The Sun and I have to admit I did not enjoy it and it nearly put me off buying this album, but I got through that and bought it anyway. As usual my credit card had a little trip out of hiding!!

And I was pleasantly surprised. Soak up the Sun, in my humble opinion is one of the worst songs on this album. But the first song that came blasting out of my stereo was Steve McQueen, and it was fantastic! This is up to her usual standard and if you are a fan you will love this!

One song that also stuck out was Lucky Kid. I found this to be a really sexy song and not Sheryl Crows typical style. Its one that you can get ready to for a girls night out, a dancing around in your underwear one girls! You all know what I mean!!!!

The song that Sheryl Crow has said is her favourite is Safe and Sound – and on that I have to agree. She performed a concert for New York and after the events last year it is so appropriate. It actually sent a tingle down my spine.

This album was written in Kid Rocks basement and in some way that worried me also. I hoped that he sis not have too much influence on this and was relieved to find he hadn’t. But the trick to listen to this album is to listen to it twice. If you do not like it the first time, I guarantee that it will grow on you.

But if you are a huge Sheryl Crow fan, you will not be disappointed, but also in a way you will not be blown away. She has set a high standard that she will always need to live up to, and although this is a wonderful album, I would not say it is one of her best. If you are not a fan, then try and listen to it and see if it changes your mind. I would it is quite a girly
album but some blokes will enjoy it too!!! So lets give each song a quick review...

Steve McQueen - Great! Funky and will get your hips-a-shakin!

Soak up the sun - Not my fave, infact I always skip it!

Your an Origional - A good song but nothing amazing. But its easy going and there is a great interlude in this.

Safe and Sound - Simply wonderful. One to put on if you have had a bad day. It will make you realise that you are not alone...we all have those, even Sheryl Crow!

C'mon C'mon - Another good song but not amazing. Easy to listen too in the sun.

Its So Easy - A romantic little track that is nice to listen to with the opne you love! Ahhh!

Over You - Have to say I did not enjoy this and its another skipper!

Lucky Kid - Really like this! Sexy and wothy of underwear dancing!

Diamond Road - Not great but not bad. A nice song.

Its Only Love - Its mushy, but I really like this! Its sweet and VERY girly! A great track.

Abilene - Another okay track. But not breathtaking. Infact, I would say this is a bit boring.

Hole In My Pocket - Another nice summer one. You could listen to it on the beach and soak up the sun..lol!

Weather Channel - Its about as intresting as! Sorry, did not like this one.

Missing - I am afraid it does go down hill from here on and this is not great but again not too bad

I want you - Good way to end this album. Its makes up for the last four!
