Songs from Ally Mcbeal - Vonda Shepard:
... more unusual tracks - it's still firmly in Radio 2 territory but breaks with the verse/chorus/verse/chorus structure of most of its peers here, and it's all the better for it. Not coincidentally it's also another of the Shepard originals: and while hearing her versions of older material, it's on self-penned tracks like this that she comes across best. Oh, and the "hey! / hey! hey!" outro will burn into y... Read the full review: Above-average easy listening by Wezzo |

The Very Best of MTV Unplugged Vol. 2 ... In The Air Tonight 16. Elton John - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me This is a great album to have if you want to hear what the raw performances of some truly great songs sound like. The album starts off with a bang with a great vocal performance from Sting with 'Every Breath You Take', and continues from there. The commercial appeal of the album is there, as most of the tracks are well known ones - I guess that's just marketing for you - but there is also a bit of quirkiness with Midnight Oil's 'Beds Are Burning', and a lesser known track from Bjork and one from R.E.M. The track that steals the show for me is the Cranberries' 'Zombie', which is performed with such pass... Read the full review: MTV Unplugged brilliance by pmcds |

Anthems: 1991 - 2008 - Ministry Of Sound ... now, surely it has died its death, however last year, a completely different version was around. SHould be dead and buried now but much deserved place within the album. 20 - Shamen - Ebenezer Goode 21 - The Prodigy - Everybody in the Place Should be much more of the Prodigy on this album, would have been nice to see No Good Start The Dance on here. CD2 1 - Arman Van Helden - You Don't KNow Me Not the best Armand Van Helden but the track that takes us back in the day. 2 - Black Legend - The Trouble With Me I thought this track was great. Much deserved on the compilation. 3 - Duke - So In Love With You 4 - Kenny "Dope" Buckets Heads - The Bomb 6 - ... Read the full review: Not What I Anticipated by blondgem |

Wavy Gravy: For Adult Enthusiasts ... girl has just been run over/By a great big steamroller"). Other songs, if not intentionally comic, are surely there to be laughed at, such as 'His Name is Jesus' a potent combination of devotion and yodelling. And then there's a cover of 'Wild Thing' by someone purporting to be an American senator trying to connect with the youth vote. This is probably the track that most people remember after only one listen, and it's a doozy. It's the only song on the album I'd actually like to know more about; I assume it can't possibly be what it claims to be, but regardless, it's one of the funniest things ever recorded. There are also a nice bunch of macabre country ... Read the full review: "A world where men and women live like animals" by hogsflesh |
