Now That's What I Call Music! 71
by Beth03 - written on 07/01/09 (Useful, 16 readings)
Rating:
Compilation albums are really fighting a losing battle against personal music players. Just load all your songs onto your media player and it takes away the need for one of these CD's. Music has gotten better in some respects in the last few years, we're getting a lot of new bands with a real music based sound, however we're still primarily getting choirs and singers. The first two CDs contain classic Motown songs like I Want You Back (Jackson 5), Baby Love (Supremes) and Heard It Through the Grapevine (Marvin Gaye). The third CD contains covers of different songs, like Stevie Wonder's cover of Light My Fire (which I really like, despite being a Doors fan) and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas' Say A Little Prayer (which doesn't really compare with the Aretha Franklin version). The first two CDs are the best but the third is a nice bonus. The sound quality on this CD, ...
