      Great!

Atreyu is an American metalcore band from Orange County in California. The band formed in 1998 and consisted of vocalist/lyricist Alex Varkatzas, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller. Congregation of the Damned is the fifth studio album released by Atreyu. It was released in 2009.

The track listing is as follows:

Stop! Before It's Too Late and We've Destroyed It All
      Bleeding Is a Luxury
      Congregation of the Damned
      Coffin Nails
      Black Days Begin
      Gallows
      Storm to Pass
You Were the King, Now You're Unconscious
      Insatiable
      So Wrong
      Ravenous
      Lonely
      Wait for You

My opinion of each song is below:

Stop! Before It's Too Late and We've Destroyed it All - This song starts with a fairly long introduction before it goes into a sort of attempt at screaming from someone that doesn't really know how to scream. I know this sounds bad but it actually does sound quite good. It's quite a slow song, especially for Atreyu, but the lyrics are certainly good. I'm not sure whether this song would really be very appropriate for children to listen to because of the repetition of the word "kill" but other than that I think this song is pretty good.

Bleeding is a Luxury - This song is not really suitable for children given the title of the song and the general subject of it as well given that it is focused on the idea of self harm and things like that. The introduction is quite long before the screamer comes in with his first line. The ordinary singing soon comes in as well though. I feel the two sing well together and that if either was taken away the band would not sound the same at all. I like the lyrics and the sound of the band in general in this song.

Congregation of the Damned - The album title is taken from this song. The introduction to this song isn't too long which I feel is a good thing. The ordinary singer is the first singer to come in on this track and the screamer doesn't come in for quite some time actually which I feel is a good thing. The lyrics of this song are really good and I find them really catchy. I think this is probably one of my favourite songs on this album actually.

Coffin Nails - This song has quite a long introduction and then the fourth word is a swear word so I feel this is not a suitable song for children to listen to at all. I personally like the lyrics to this song though. I find it to be quite easy to associate to parts of it. I think this is always a good thing because it means that others may be able to associate to it as well and therefore the fan base is likely to be quite large.

Black Days Begin - This song has a much heavier beat than the previous ones which is more the style of the typical older songs by Atreyu (generally before Lead Sails and a Paper Anchor was released). The screaming in this song is good, along with the ordinary singing. I find this song to be quite addictive actually. You want to keep pressing the repeat button once you've listened to it once. I love this song personally.

Gallows - This song starts very quietly and then gets louder as the second instrument is brought in, then again louder once the third is brought in. By this time, the song is sounding pretty good. Once the ordinary singer comes in, it really gets going and you find yourself moving pretty much involuntarily to the song because it's so good. I didnt like the song the first time I heard it but then it just gets better and better every time you listen to it and becomes more and more addicting. Not a good thing if you don't like songs being stuck in your head, belive me!

Storm To Pass - This song is one of my favourites on the entire album because I love the way it sounds and the lyrics and everything. It goes together really well actually. I like the chorus in particular. Its another really catchy song. This song is almost entirely suitable for children to listen to as well, if it wasn't for the swearing towards the end. I find this song to be really good and I could certainly listen to it all day without getting bored. I like the slower ending to it as well because it's a change from their usual style.

You Were The King, Now You're Unconscious - This song is mostly just music with very few lyrics or vocals at all. I think this can be a good thing to some degree because it shows the talent of the rest of the band without vocals taking precedence but at the same time, I think it would have been better with vocals. Not my favourite track unfortunately.

Insatiable - This song has a very long introduction and seems to go on for quite a long time but then when the vocals come in it suddenly gets a whole lot better again (minus the fact that there is quite a bit of swearing again). I like the lyrics to this song because they seem fairly easy to associate to again which is a good thing. I think that although the song is essentially about materialism and being materialistic, most people could probably associate to it to some degree.

So Wrong - This is my favourite song on the entire album. I absolutely love it and could listen to it every minute of every day and still love it. Actually to be fair I probably listen to it several times a day and have done since I bought the album last year and I still adore it. Unlike many of the other songs, it isn't particulatrly fast actually but I think this isn't necessarily a bad thing because it emphasises the voice of the ordinary singer which I think is nice as his voice is often drowned out somewhat by the screamer or by the music in the background being a little too loud.

Ravenous - This song sounds like it's going to be slow and quiet and then suddenly it gets much faster and you wonder how it could possibly be played at that speed. It's a good beat and really gets you moving again like some of the other tracks on this album do. It's more like their older stuff than many other songs on this album but this is a good thing again because it makes the typical Atreyu sound stand out again like it did before this album and the one before it came out. They seem to have changed quite a bit in recent years but I think this change is still a good thing.

Lonely - I love this song as well. While it is more like their more modern music, I like it because the lyrics are amazing. If you don't listen to the lyrics and just the sound it doesn't seem as good. However they all compliment each other really well and I think it works amazingly well together. I like the general sound of this track. I think the lyrics are by far the best part of it though.

Wait For You - This song is a lot slower and quieter than the other ones on this album. It stands out like a sore thumb to be honest. It doesnt go at all with the rest of the songs on this album. I like it but I just dont think it goes well on this album with it being so different. It sounds more like a pop song by Blue or something than a heavy metal style song from a band like Atreyu. Personally I hope they don't stick with this sort of music too much more in the future. It isn't bad but it certainly could be a lot better.

Overall, I think this album is certainly a good one. It's not as good as some of their earlier stuff but it certainly still has that Atreyu feel to it. I think it's a great track for people who are just getting into this sort of music but I think for the old fans, it is perhaps a little disappointing.
