 ... Eastern European, Caucususian (if there is such a word?) and Central Asian. Whilst the album doesn't quite encapture a live performance of the band (after all they are usually very interestingly clothed) - it's as good a medieval album as you are likely to come across. The rythms are hypnotic but often quite energetic too. To the newcomer this album may sound very meaty - the duo L'Ham de Foc (Fishhook of Fire) with their album Cor de Porc (Pig Heart) are an awesome representation of medieval music. Singing in Catalan, the duo are folk/roots musicians from the Valencia region and have mastered a medieval type of music from their region with similarities to flamenco, they don't just play this though with an array of guesting musicians and an arsenal of instruments (some of which are pretty unknown and look alien to the eye) at hand they branch out into North African music, Greek, Turkish, Eastern European, Caucususian (if there is such a word?) and Central Asian.
