Advantages: Drain The Blood, Die On A Rope

Disadvantages: Price

The Distillers are normally known to be one of these hit and miss bands. Since performing at this years Reading Festival, it seems there popularity has grown even further than the band could gather. Straight off the CD of the last Album 'Sing Sing Death House' which brought the band a whole new popularity 'Coral Fang' brings a whole new energy where Brody Dalle the lead vox has something to sing and shout about. Since her recent break up with Rancid guitarist Tim Armstrong she has aimed alot of pain and anger through her songs at him.
Even though the album does feature the grainy voice of Brody, a more mellow side has been discovered in songs such as 'The Hunger' and 'Dismantle me'. Selling points for the album would be Drain the blood, with its fast paced beats and powerful lyrical content and Die on a Rope which will go down as a Distillers looped song no less, much like City Of Angels.
The 12 song Album is a must for any Distillers fan out there, catchy songs and good lyrical content makes it a keeper, but its really up to your own personal taste. If you do like this check out The Distillers first album which is self titled and 'Sing Sing Death House'.
