~~Introduction~~ This album is simply phenomenal. I can't speak too highly of it. The simple and laid-back yet incredibly catchy mood of it just puts me in a good mood every time I listen to it, which I have done more than any other album in my collection. There is a slightly jazzy feel mixed in with the indie and rock, and the Fratellis have not done anything wrong. I can say that there is not a single let down in the album, and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't like it. ~~The Individual Songs~~ Henrietta - 9/10 - sets the mood for the rest of the album; upbeat, bouncy and impressively rhythmic, this song has me rocking in time ... I feel about 5 when I listen to this album. It is just so full of sugar-induced childlike glee. If you are in search of a feel good album that will have you jumping up and down, perhaps even improvising a silly walk, then look no further. Costello Music puts you right there within a few bars of the opening track, and there you will stay - running round in manic circles - until you release that it's looped, is on repeat and you really are quite dizzy. Costello Music is the debut album from Glaswegian rockers the Fratellis and is released under Fall Out Records. It was a reasonable success, peaking in the UK album charts at number 2. The success of the album ... Read the complete review

Ok first of all I'll tell you about my favourite tracks off this album. (1) Henrietta, a great opener it shows what The Fratellis are all about, very catchy, great lyrics. I love the chorus of this song. (4) Whistle for the choir, an acoustic song a lot slower paced than the other songs but defiantly one of my favourite tracks off the album, a great song to sing along to. (5) Chelsea Dagger, the most well known song off the album. Very catchy song. Another great sing along song for parties. I love the lyrics of this song they are quite clever. (9) Vince the lovable stoner, another great song the guitar works great on this ... Read the complete review

I didn't really know what to expect when I bought this album just 8 days ago. I was familiar with their Chelsea Dagger song (it's often featured on televised darts as players take to the stage) and liked it enough to take a chance by buying Costello Music. The CD case told me that this was a Special Edition (?why), that it was Brit Award nominated in 2007 and that you can unlock exclusive extras of The Fratellis' website by putting the CD in your computer drive (I've yet to try that, I'm not usually impressed by so-called extras). The album's 13 songs total 44 minutes of play and all but one track falls in the 3 to 4 minute category. Having looked on ... Read the complete review

This is one of those feel good albums. It gets you singing along as soon as it starts and the lyrics are clear and distinct so you can sing along after only a few listens. There is a great mix of jangly guitars and strong drumming on this album. It also has a level of fun which comes through on most of the tracks either through the lyrics or the way the tracks are sung. I'm sure most readers are aware of Chelsea Dagger - I really loved this track when I first heard it and now I love it even more when I hear it on a saturday afternoon - because it means that the Dons have scored!!! You do tend to get a bit carried away by the tracks on ... Read the complete review
