I confess myself a huge TLC fan. The band have always piqued my interest, and frankly, I find them to be the best girl group ever to have graced the music industry. The girls – Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas – first came onto the music scene in the very early 90s, sporting large hats, baggy clothes and condoms all over their attire to promote safe sex. They were new, fresh and exciting, and they were incredible role models to younger girls. Their first album, “Oooooohhh… On the TLC Tip”, enjoyed great success, eventually going quadruple platinum in the States. T-Boz had an interesting soulful, raspy voice, Chilli had the ... TLC's first return came in 1994 with "CrazySexyCool"; their second album and had trio T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli come with more of their southern style of R&B to boost what they had already come up with on their 1992 debut (which featured them in the New Jack Swing style). 1. "Intro-Lude" 2. "Creep" Starting things here you find that they perform one of the biggest singles from the album. I have to say that I really wasn't all that into what comes here, and I can't see how it became as successful as it did as it really lack energy, and there's not really a lot going on with it. All I can appreciate is ... Read the complete review

TLC lives up to the name of this wonderfully diverse album on their second effort from Laface Records, CrazySexyCool. This is their best album to date and they have a great selection of songs and ideas. TLC does their best when they are just hanging and having fun. Not blessed with the best voices in the business they make up for it with attitude, spunk and making at times profound statements about life. Opening their album with a really appealing "intro-lude" and move right into the first track "Creep" T-Boz has a very unique voice and captures the ear immediately. The production is excellent and you can't help but want to move. Relating ... Read the complete review

The sound of "CrazySexyCool" is quite different from "Fanmail", which has a much faster, futuristic feel to it. Most of the tracks on the earlier album are slower, with gently synthesised sounds throughout. Although I missed the fast moving Fanmail songs, I actually found myself liking a lot of the CrazySexyCool songs better. Many of them are quite powerful, and full of imagery. "Diggin' on You" is lively, and uplifting. "Red Light Special" is beautiful and sensuous, while "Somethin' Wicked" is darkly moving. ... Read the complete review

TLC.... Does it really stand for Tender Loving Care? ‘Cos Left eye sure needed some of that when she burnt her ex’s house to the ground! Oh dear, the poor girl! TLC have had a few ups and downs in their career, well quite a lot actually! But that doesn’t stop them from putting out some of the best tunes! Crazy, Sexy, Cool is a great album, with lots of tunes for all occasions. My favourite would have to be ‘The Red Light Special’, for when I’m feeling in that lovey dovey mood! Most people would remember ‘Creep’, or ‘Waterfalls’. A great album. ... Read the complete review
