The mixes are often pretty creative and inspired and work well in clubs. There are two discs here and we re off to a good start with some rap Artists banging together, Snoop and Dre slide effortlessly in around the funky beats of Groove Armada. The album then goes all latino, as Tito Puente meets Beth Ditto s outfit The Gossip. It sounds hellish, but the tracks compliment each other and Beth s powerful vocal flows well over his latino beats. Head to Eric Prydz s Pjanoo where the house anthem is given a superb smooth vocal from Ben Ofoedu. The track manages to retain its peaks and also inject an underlying level of soul. The Ultimate Knees Up Party

The cover artwork looks cheap. I am scared already. What exactly is a knees up? I have never been to a party and seen people with their knees in the air. That wouldn't be naturally comfortable, surely? One hundred songs apparently, though some of these are made of through medleys, so that doesn't really count does it. I counted fifty songs, so they weren't far off! We get underway with the delightful Whigfield. 'Saturday Night' has a strong eurobeat flavour and Sannie's vocals are bright and enthused. With a title like 'Celebrate' you just know that you are in for a night of fun filled frolics with this CD. Or maybe not! The album has 20 tracks to get you up off your chair and onto that dancefloor. These are the kind of songs that Aunt Maud and Uncle Ron will boogie to, while you watch from the sidelines, pretending you don't know them. We are off to a good start as Robert Palmer rocks us with the sexy 'Addicted To Love.' His masculine touch lifts the song and the way he snarls the vocals is joyous, a shame he passed away so young. Head next to 'The Monster Mash' which is short and ghoulish. It is one of the few novelty tracks that I can tolerate thanks ...
