The Crown's third album starts out as a promising fusion of extreme death metal and melodic elements with the excellent title track before slipping into a predictable and lifeless pattern thereafter. I expected more from what is, in some ways, an off-shoot of the legendary melodic death metal band At the Gates, featuring the vocal talents of hatemonger extraordinaire Tomas Lindberg, while the band's links with the Haunted (another sort-of At the Gates spin-off) added further intrigue, even though that band has never impressed me too much.
