Advantages: If for nothing else it has Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon on the "sleeve" , Very nice songs
Disadvantages: A couple dodgy, not too great songs here and there
A great CD, I must say. First of all I must give brief recommendations to the movie (simply excellent - very seductive - Ryan Phillipe). All through the film I felt myself dancing in this cinema to the songs being played (and people were looking at me quite strangely as well!). The Placebo song is pretty good, I love Fatboy Slim's "Praise You", Blur's Coffee and TV is ok, but not one of my favourites from Blur... Bedroom Dancing's got some hilarious lyrics and is an interesting attempt at symbolism... "and so we danced and danced and danced and danced all night... 12 o'clock, the music stops, she walked away from me, and took her shoes off, and she said that's it, and I knew it, she said we can't dance without music" The Counting Crow's Colorblind is fabulous. "I am colorblind, coffee black and egg white. Pull me out from inside. I am ready, i am ready, i am ready..." Ordinary Life, Comin' up from Behind... all good. I was glad to see Skunk Anasie features because, although they may be quite well known in Europe, you almost never hear of them in the US. I especially like her song "Weak" just in case you wanted to know. This Love I don't like too much, nor am I a big fan of You Could Make a Killing, but Addictive is pretty interesting... Trip on Love is cute. You Blew Me Off is pretty funny as well - "If you ignore me, you get my respect... when you turn to hug me, I like you less. You blew me off, it turned me on" Bitter Sweet Symphony... probably the best ending to a CD i've EVER heard. I love this "The Verve" song. It's beautiful, and puts me in such an uplifting mood. I like this CD because it gives a great backdrop to everyday life, and seems to be a crowd pleaser (I haven't met too many people who object to me putting it on!!) If you don't have the CD and have seen the music and danced a little yourself... I
say get it... I'm almost sure you'll like it.
