The Long Road - Nickelback

Rating:
First off, sorry for the heinously terrible title. I was never creative or humorous enough to think of a catchy title. Don?t let it put you off the CD. And, talking of which, lets get started. I am a cheapskate. And an unadventurous cheapskate at that. When it comes to music these characteristics merge creating complete shut down on buying albums. I have a nasty habit of sticking to what I know and as a result of this most of my albums are copies off friends who have said they are good. Though, recently I had a sudden influx of CDs because I went to Russia (don?t ask) and albums were about £3, which even I could handle. Not that this almost inability to buy means I don?t like ...

Silver Side Up - Nickelback

Well I purchased this album on the strength of "How you remind me", a catchy rock song which has undoubtedly launched this band too a wider audience than they were previously know too. The album starts of well with "Never Again" which is another rockish track about a violent husband. There are other great tracks such as "Too Bad", "Just For" and the last track "Good Times Gone". Unfortunately some of the other tracks dont live up to these standards and tend to be easily forgot. Thats not too say they are bad tracks but the band seem to have found a good formula with their songs but maybe they have overused it a little resulting in a few ...

OK - you've all heard "How you remind me" on the radio, and you all like it. I like it. That is what persuaded me to go and borrow the album from a friend. But what a dissapointment. These guys have very little talent. They can play their instruments - but "where is the variation" you'll hear me cry. Their songs are all the same style and you listen to the album and it doesnt do anything for you. They appear to be one of these rock band out to conquer the charts, get a hit and then will dissapear. I hope this is their fate, because on this album that is what they deserve. Listen to it, rent it, but for goodness sake dont buy it (unless for some ...
