First off a disclaimer: I am embarking on writing a series of Hip-Hop reviews, but I am not an expert on the genre. I enjoy it as a fan, but don't know everything about it like some of the excellent reviewers on here such as XICripZ. Curtain call was released in 2005 and was Eminems fifth album. It was basically a greatest hits album for him however calling it curtain call he was kind of saying that he probably wouldn't make another album again. EMINEM - Curtain Call. And so for his 5th mainstream album we are given a selection of slim shadys greatest hits from classics like My Name is and Guilty Conscience up to the more recent and brilliant When im Gone. So how does it fair up.... As with previous albums we are treated to a rather amusing intro, showing that EMINEM hasnt lost his humerous side just yet. This is one of the best album that rap has seen! Eminem is a true legend especially when he's being serious. I knew eminem had done some brilliant tracks but when you listen to the songs on this album you realise how good he really is. By far the best white rapper on the planet. My favourite song is probably When i'm gone because it is brilliantly sang and also the lyrics are hard that hit the heart and i can understand how he felt when he sang it. Eminem's 2005 album Curtain Call features many excellent tracks. Altogeher there are sixteen songs and a bonus track. The tracks feature all of his greatest hits and some new stuff. The highlight of the album is STAN. Even now when I hear it Dido's vocals are really heartbreaking as are the genuis lyrics of a crazed fan. MOCKINGBIRD is an unsung song with Eminem rapping about his daughter and how much he loves her. WHEN I'M GONE features along the same lines with Eminem's lyrics highlighting he needs to spend moe time with his daughter. SING FOR THE MOMENT is a wonderful song with a wonderful back up sound.
