"Dance To The Music" came out in 1968, and was Sly & The Family Stone's second album. The Psychedelic Soul and Funk group returned with even more to show how they could take what was a new sound for the time. 1. "Dance To The Music" This song is one which you should be familiar with, and the fact that it has been such a popular song over the years is down to the fact that, unlike with their debut, this one finds them moving towards the sounds of Pop, and the type of thing which was popular at the time. I LOVE Sly & The Family Stone. When I was a kid I thought they were all related, however only Sly Stone and Freddie Stone are, as brothers. Cynthia Robinson was their trumpeter, Jerry Martini on Saxophone, Greg Errico on drums, and Larry Graham on bass, although Sly and Freddie's sister Rose joined later. The group had been around since the mid nineteen sixties, and split in the early nineteen eighties, their music would be considered to be in the funk, soul, rock genre.
