Hits: The Very Best Of Erasure - Erasure ... coming home from work yesterday the dj played Erasure s hit Sometimes and I found myself singing along to the 1986 hit as if it had been released yesterday. It instantly transported back to when I was only 16 no cares, no debts, no stress! It gave me such a good feeling that when I got home I dug out my Very best of Erasure CD. As soon as it began with Andy Bell s belting out Oh L Amour , I remembered what it was about Erasure that I really like. The lyrics are darkly cynical, quite depressing and downbeat, but the tunes are upbeat singalong songs that get into your head and lift your mood. The Collection - E-Rotic ... German hardcore/trance at it s best, E-Rotic should be more well known than they are, sure the music is not particularly complicated but its catchy and quite ridiculous. This album The Collection is probably all you need, in fact it s quite expensive and you are probably just better listening to the songs on youtube as most of them are there. A friend of mine was travelling around with this album and left it at my place, was quite surprised when listening to it! The artists sing in a catchy trashy accent way like Aqua or any number of earlier bands from the 90 s (Whigfield, Rednex etc), all of their lyrics are rather rude and they have trashy animations that run a... Mahala Rai Banda - Mahala Rai Banda ... Rai Banda are a Romanian gypsy band made up of former military men and were discovered playing in a restaurant, much of the band is from Clejani, a small town in the plains south of Bucharest near the Bulgarian border, amazingly the birth place of the band Taraf de Haidouks as well (it only has a population of 3000), in fact the violinist and musical directors are indeed relatives of the band. Mahala Rai Banda are probably the most similar band to Taraf de Haidouks, each song on this album which was released in 2005, is an upbeat piece of fun.
