I was first introduced to the music of Gary Moore by listening to his albums After Hours and Still Got The Blues, two of his (to date) greatest albums with some classic songs - both of these albums made me pick up an old, battered guitar and learn to play. After many years of waiting Gary gave us Dark Days in Paradise, and I must say I was dissapointed with it. Gone are the loves blues riffs and guitar solos from his blues albums, or the rock sound from his days as the guitarist from Thin Lizzy. After having spent the first part of his career as "the guitarist from Thin Lizzy", gary branched out as solo artist spending about 10 years down the hard rock road building up his following. In 1990 he decided to return to his blues roots and spent the next 6 years or so raising his profile as one of the best blues guitarists in this country if not the world. This record will then come as a bit of shock to most. neither hard rock or blues. This is a brilliant collection of songs which show Gary at the his peak of guitar playing.
