more than 150 times with perhaps Frank Sinatra s version being the best version ever. However hearing the composer singing it is a close second. When you hear Harrison sing these songs you will hear much more meaning and deliberate feeling inflected into them because they are his songs from his mind and his soul. His voice is not as distinctive in style as that of John Lennon or Paul McCartney but it does have a very pleasant almost American West Coast soft rock quality to it with a little bit of huskiness added. This is one of the best albums that George Harrison has ever made. His debut album as a soloist (after the split with the Beatles) that outsold the debut albums of Lennon and McCartney put together, so before listening to it you know it must be good. The album is quite spiritually focused with the tracks My Sweet Lord, Hear Me Lord, etc. Harrison is always very religious on his albums, but does not let this take over.
