Day and Age - BRILLIANT!!! (Day And Age - The Killers)
Member Name: Beth21
Advantages: Great Tunes, Not over played, amazing Vocals Disadvantages: N/A Firstly I love this album. As a massive fan of Hot Fuss I was disappointed by the Sam's Town album, the only songs that had really appealed on that album were bones and when you were Young. I eagerly anticipated the release of Day and Age., after seeing the Killers at Reading Festival 2009 I was so excited about the new album, the Killers had performed an amazing set at Reading Festival and the new Songs they had played caught the audience in a frenzy of excitement. On my first listen to this album I felt a bit disappointed but over the space of a few months i have come to love the entire album. My favourite track would have to be Spaceman, which was the second release from the album, a great tune, very catchy but not in the Mr Brightside way, which if you've ever been to University or a student night in the UK its greatly appreciated when tunes alike Mr Brightside are not being written and played to death by bands. The entire album has a mix of catchy songs but with a more melodramatic and mature feel but restraining from being depressing. The vocal abilities of lead singer Brandon Flowers give the album a great unfamiliar sound moving the Killers away from the current Indie trend and bringing back Rock, but perhaps in a new Great Genre. Summary: great album, more mature sound, must have |
