Slick Italian Gothic Doom (Days Of Nothing - The Foreshadowing)
Member Name: Burning_Darkness
Advantages: Moving, varied, well executed, good songwriting ,vocals, and production Disadvantages: Nothing stunningly original
'Days of Nothing', the first full length by Italian band 'The Foreshadowing' is an album of slow, brooding gothic doom that merges the slick, sorrowful guitars of 'Gods of the Sun'-era My Dying Bride with the melancholy gothic rock of latter-day Katatonia. The songs are accompanied by piano, keyboards and sweeping synths, whilst the vocals are in the form of deep, morose crooning. These, like music itself, are excellently executed, and whilst not entirely dissimmilar to the clean singing by My Dying Bride's Aaron Stainthorpe they manage to retain an identity of their own. Summary: Quality gothic doom |
