Lock Up The Wolves - Dio
Valiant effort.
Sub-par incarnation of the band can't achieve too much.
Lucidity - Delain
Strong gothic metal without the cheese.
All rather samey.
Human - Death
Excellent experimental touches combined with solid death metal.
Bass is obscured by production.
Kal - Kal
A sublime fusion of roots and more modern music
Not as good as some contemporaries
Killing The Dragon - Dio
Returns to tried-and-tested ground.
Fails to live up to the old standard.
Kobzar - Haydamaky
Some superb music
The flute on one or two tracks does my head in
Last In Line - Dio
More classic metal, with Dio's best song in the title track.
Essentially nine more tracks of the same.
Leave Scars - Dark Angel
A heavier take on eighties thrash.
Less memorable than its predecessor.
Infatuation With Malevolence - Dying Fetus
Uncomplicated, evil death metal.
Silly burp vocals and repetitive drums.
Lady Of The Lore - Desdemona
Fun power metal.
Heard it all before.
