The Rasmus are: Lauri Ylonen (vocals) Pauli Rantasalmi (Guitars) Eero Heinomen (Bass) Aki Hakala (Drums) (Now I want you to be able 2 recite those back to yourself at the end of this review, with correct spellings… what? Oh come on, they're not THAT hard!?) Anyway, this album - "Dead Letters" marked the beginning of the Rasmus' influence on the British music industry, although unaware to many (I know it was to me before I had liked this band enough to research them further), the Rasmus truly began their music career, way back in 1996, when they released their first album ever "Peep" in Finland. This was ... Read the complete review

My daughter was the first person to bring The Rasmus to my attention. She is an avid music channel viewer, and started to sing a song around the house quite a lot. I later found out that the group behind the song were Finland based band The Rasmus, and I started to like the song she was singing, which was called ?In The Shadows?, and then their follow up single grew on me, so very unlike me, I bought the album based on how much I liked those two songs. Opening track ?First Day Of My Life? starts off as if it is going to be a very heavy guitar drenched opening, but then the lyrics ... Read the complete review

Let me be the first to inform Dooyoo-ers about what might be the album of the year. I can?t believe that no one has rated this album yet, and I probably won?t do it justice, as I don?t know much about music. But this has to be one of the best albums I?ve heard! ?Dead Letters? by ?The Rasmus.? Most people in the UK aren?t terribly aware of The Rasmus, but I can guarantee with the release of ?In the Shadows,? which is scheduled for April this year, The Rasmus will replicate their European Success in Britain. If you haven?t got tickets for one of their upcoming gigs in the UK, then book them now before they release their single. They have performed sell-out gigs ... Read the complete review

A fantastic album! I first heard The Rasmus in 2004 at my local gym on the MTV channel but despite loving the single Guilty, I didn't know who they were as the video came on part way through and I didn't catch their name. I actually bought the album based on the cover art as I thought the logo was beautiful so was really happy to find that it was the same band. This is I think their best album to date. In total, The Rasmus have released 7 studio albums over about 15 years. The album's name comes from the term for letters that never reach a recepient. They have said that the album's songs are a collection of letters all written for someone. The Rasmus are hard ... Read the complete review

I'm a big fan of flicking through the music channels (God bless Sky Digital) to see what's out and about though I tend towards MTV2, Kerrang and Scuzz. A short while back I caught the end of a video by The Rasmus. Catchy little rocky number that has since been played everywhere called "In The Sahdows". I did a little digging. The Rasmus have been around for a few years but this is their first UK release to date. Mixed reviews came in from my usual internet haunts so I decided that I'd check them out. I've had the CD for a few weeks now and have had chance to give it a good listening to (marking coursework seems much nicer with the ... Read the complete review
Products similar to Dead Letters - The Rasmus
Speak English Or Die - S.O.D.
Excellent cross-over, pissed people off
Some tracks are just too short and just seem like a "laugh"
Into the Unknown - Bad Religion
Brett Gurewitz gets some guitar solos, and Greg Graffin shows he can do mellow too.
A very lousy eighties synth-pop-rock album.
Las Ruinas Del Eden - Avalanch
Wintereich - Immortal Souls
Enjoyable guitars.
Sound becomes repetitive before too long.
Ashes - Arcane
Interesting poetic, soft prog metal in the style of Green Carnation.
Dull and lacking in stand-out moments.
Dactylis Glomerata - Candlemass
Some more Candlemass material.
Their weakest album, plagued by problems.
Blood, Sweat & Tears 4 - Blood, Sweat and Tears
Pop Rock - 1996
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Banco
Talented and intriguing fusion of symphonic prog and classical elements.
No sense of structure in the longer songs, which feel distractingly jumbled.
Welterwerk - Drottnar
Tries something different.
Not a complete success.
