Advantages: Guitar solos will have you air guitaring
Disadvantages: Awa's piano song could have been better
Deadache is the fourth offering from the premier monstermen (and woman) themselves, Finlands own Lordi.
Most people know Lordi as the winners of the 2006 Eurovision song contest but the reality is they have been making monster rock for a lot longer. That, however, is enough history. The album itself ranks as the strongest, in my view, which is impressive as 2006's The Arockalypse was a very good record. Most songs have Lordi's signature lyrics alternating from monsters to madmen and sung by Mr Lordi himself with his very believably animal-like vocals. Guitarist Amen has truly been unleashed on this album as he enjoys a guitar segment on every song that reinforces his status as a leading guitarist in Finlands flourishing music scene.
Album highlights include Bite It Like A Bulldog, Missing Miss Charlene and Devil Hides Behind Her Smile which "borrows" the Phantom Of The Opera theme to great effect.
For newcomers to Lordi or old fans anew, this album may take a couple of listens to pick out your favourites, but its a thumping good listen and well worth four stars.
Summary: Great for people wanting to give Lordi a try
