Some Girls - Rolling Stones
fantastic (218 words)by - written on 23/03/01
Rating:
The last truly great Stones Album (has it really been over 20 years?) This album has it all, from The country twang of "Far Away Eyes" to the dirty blues of the title track to the disco beat of "Miss You" to the all out rockers "When The Whip Comes Down" and "Respectable". The guitar interplay between Richards and Wood has not been matched on a Stones album since. The rest of the band is in top form as well. Of particular note is the fantastic bass playing by Keith (where was Bill Wyman that day?) heard on the title track. The immortal "Beast of Burden" is also a highlight, as well as "Before They Make Me Run" ...
Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones
by rabbitina hole - written on 04/05/01 (Very useful, 221 readings)

Sticky Fingers - Rolling Stones
very good (219 words)by - written on 22/03/01
Rating:
Their best album and The best album of the year in 1971, better than Who's Next, Zoso, and Imagine. I love Let It Bleed but, in all it's greatness, it can't touch this one. "Brown Sugar" is the best song on the album. Mick sings his ass off. Keith puts out some kick ass guitar and Bobby Keys' sax is perfect. "Sway" is a great hard rocking tune as well. A top notch performance by Mick and Mick Taylor's guitar solo make this one. "Wild Horses" ranks as their 3rd best ballad, behind "Ruby Tuesday" and "Angie". "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" displays how the Stones can integrate so many ...
