I find the song really catchy and sticks in your head. 10/10 "Summer Shudder" This is another one of those songs that I love, the singing and the beat I feel that the song keeps to the same all the way through and sticks in your head because it's memorable song because it repeats itself. 8/10 "The Interview" I like this song I love the way it starts with the lovel...more

Premium Review Decemberunderground - AFI: Rabbits are Roadkill on Route 37 (1112 words)

'Decemberunderground' is the latest album to have been released by the American rock band AFI (A Fire Inside). I had not been looking forward to its release whatsoever when it came about in 2006. 'Miss Murder' was chosen to be the albums lead single and I took an instant disliking to it. What I hated most about the single is that the opening guitar riff sounds as though it has been stolen straight from a Green Day record. Whenever I listen to the track I just can't seem to rid the Green Day association from my mind, the album on the whole however is thankfully nothing like 'Miss Murder'. When listening to 'Decemberunderground' in fact, 'Miss Murder' stands out like a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Punk rock with some good tunes (814 words)

AFI are a Punk Rock band who started in 1991. I have never been a fan of AFI until AFI appeared on Guitar Hero 3 with the song Miss Murder. I just love this song and that's mainly why I bought this album so I could listen to the song Miss Murder however I have been pleasantly surprised. When I first started listening to the album I found that the album was over all average and I enjoyed listening it because I like it and it's my type of music that I like listening to. "Prelude 12/21" This is the first song and the length of the song is short only lasting 1:34. This song took a little listening to get used to however I do like this song and find ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Decemberunderground - AFI: Please don't wake me 'til someone cares. (538 words)

When deciding to review this album, I was struck by one particular comment in the only other review so far. In it, rleigh says 'Tim Burton could no doubt utilise many of the albums tracks in any one of his magically enchanting films'. For me, that's the entire problem with this CD, in which Havok and co. ponce about in a majestically bad example of style winning out over substance. Sparkly electronic effects, hyperbolic choruses and a very imaginative media campaign are all well and good when they're supporting a good record, but this sits more comfortably in the 'C+' category and shows a band losing its identity as a direct result of borrowing from too many ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is There Still A Fire Inside? (725 words)
by - written on 01/03/09 (Very useful, 101 readings)

**THE BAND** AFI (A Fire Inside) are an American punk band from California, USA. The band formed way back in 1991. Their style has not changed dramatically ovre the years although there are some noteable differences and progressions with each album which could be seen as a bad thing from some people but I think it can be good, depending on the direction they go in. AFI weren't really well known until the release of 'Decemberunderground' which was one of the appealing things about this band so unfortunately I have to say that i'm no the biggest fan of this album! The members of the band are: Davey Havok, Jade Puget, Hunter Burgan, and Adam Carson. So far AFI have ...  Read the complete review

New Wave & Post-punk - 1992

Continuing to evolve their sound, here featuring electronic influences. The style doesn't always work. In fact, it almost always fails.

A few songs rip off the Misfits without quoting directly from their songs, which is a start I guess. Sub-par copy-cat act.

A harder and heavier approach to prove the band's punk rock integrity. Material itself is weak and uninspired.
