... songs. "Swallowed", a favorite of mine and a beautiful song in general, is turned into a strange electronic jumble of repetitive beats and Gavin's mournful voice calling out "Swallooooooowed" at various moment. "Comedown", another great hit, is massacred into a techno mix that really should never have happened. This is, essentially, what is done to the entire album. From "Everything Zen" to "Personal Holloway", great songs are reduced to a few key lines and a loop...more

Premium Review Deconstructed - Bush: Bush in a Lonely Place with "Deconstructed" (362 words)
by - written on 27/04/02 (Very useful, 22 readings)
Rating:

Don't get me wrong. I've always been a Bush fan, even when the moderately disappointing "Science of Things" album hit the scenes. So when I got Deconstructed, the infamous Bush remix album that's taken a lot of punishment from critics, I thought I would at least give it a try. "Perhaps," I thought, "it's not as bad as people say it is." Well, it isn't. But it's not that far away either. I used to like Bush, for the longest time I've owned Sixteen stone their debut but after borrowing Deconstructed from someone and forced to compare the two albums based on that this person wants to trade, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like Bush anymore. Well.."normal" Bush that is. It's strange how much your tastes change. Many bands could learn from this album- what I want them to learn- I really don't know?- it's not that this strictly remix collection is confusing, rather it's so fresh and unexpected it leaves me in a certain wonder.. I mean I try to Imagine other bands with the Techno/remix ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Deconstructed - Bush: If you like Bush - You'll Love This (86 words)

Deconstructed is album of Mixes, These mixes are amazing, This Album has a mixture of songs from all 3 Albums - 16 Stone, Razorblade Suitcase and The Science Of Things. Although this Album can be hard to find even at the best of times it is still available Online from selective vendors. Out of the entire Album my personal favourites are the re-mixes of the Everything Zen. However some of the Re-mixes can be a bit dull in comparison to the original Bush songs. ...  Read the complete review

Gavin has a really posh voice but is an excellent singer and the band are good and really good live so you have to hear them live and then buy there album but they are the best live and you have to hear them live or I'll have to kill you and your mates. The whole bands are really cool, download an interview of them and hear them talk about whatever. That's all I really have to say about the band so read some more of my reviews on bush and ill personally thank you so that is all from me and ill see you later. Bye!!!!! ...  Read the complete review
