However successful the Tony Martin years were proving in establishing a new and solid, albeit less widely recognised sound for Black Sabbath, the band had already passed its prime with its golden years long behind it. 'Dehumanizer' represents the first of the "classic line-up" reunions that nowadays provide the band with all their income and gigs, and why not? With two distinct classic line-ups to choose from, there's a greater opportunity to milk older successes in front of adoring old and new audiences alike, though I doubt the most recent Heaven and Hell tour will be followed by a reunion for the smaller audience of Tony Martin fans who secretly still prefer ...  Read the complete review

Although Sabbath fans were hoping for an reunion of the 70's line-up with Ozzy they had to settle for a the Mark II reunion in 1992 for the Dehumanizer album and subsequent world tour. on this album Ronnie James Dio put his own band (Dio) on ice and returned on vocals. He insisted that Vinny Appice, who was the drummer in Dio must return to play with Sabbath and so Cozy Powell was given his marching orders. Original bassist Geezer Butler also came back to play as well and as always Tony Iommi led the band on guitars. Its a shame the line up collapsed after Dio refused to support Ozzy on his "last" two shows in Costa Mesa. For these gigs Judas Priest's ...  Read the complete review

Products similar to Dehumanizer - Black Sabbath

It has Tony Iommi in it, and he does some nice acoustic stuff. Nothing distinctive or particularly enthralling about it.

a dark classic, Dio`s finest hour not for the Ozzy fans

Breaks away from the tedious style built up in previous albums. Doesn't replace it with anything particularly good, and there's a really bad Ice T guest appearance.

Great pagan atmosphere. Poor production spoils effect of instruments.

Excellent tracks None

Great concept The overall production and average songs.

Tome VI - Ange
Talented French symphonic prog, for fans of early Genesis. Hard for newcomers to appreciate.

The Klaxon - And Also The Trees
Compellingly miserable with plenty of lighter moments. Repetitive sound after a while.

The Fall Of Ideals - All That Remains
Better than the other bastardised metalcore bands. Uninspired and occasionally offensive (to a metal fan, I mean).

Kurr - Amiina
Interesting and highly lucid classical performance with a strong atmosphere. Lacking.

Saltbreakers - Laura Veirs
Unusual, intelligent songs; nice combination of genres; musicianship Sometimes annoying juvenilia style lyrics; some weak tracks

Redemption Process - Anorexia Nervosa
Standard symphonic black metal with a more melodic flair. No songs really stand out.

Evermind - Amethystium
Relaxing and eclectic ambience. Only suited for relaxation or background music, otherwise soon becomes repetitive and dull.

Intorno alla mia cattiva educazione - Alusa Fallax
A grand, detailed and eloquent progressive symphony. Necessarily patchy and uneven, with some experiments being more successful than others.

Angel Witch - Angel Witch
Classic heavy metal. Endless, tedious comparisons to other bands are inevitable.

Angels Of Venice - Angels Of Venice
Approachable and entertaining neoclassical music. Too much reliance on obvious cover songs.
