 ... so it wasn't really as if there was room for improvement. Yet somehow Neil Young filled the gap that no-one knew was even there to make this perfect record. Is it ok to be overtly enthusiastic about an album that was put together before I was born by a bunch of long-haired hippy types? Well, yes. I don't want to go too overboard but this has been my favourite album of all time for some years - it really is a classic. Crosby, Stills and Nash had already been together for an album when they were joined by the insanely talently Neil Young for this gem of an album. What a decision that was: they'd already produced the seminal eponimous CS&N album so it wasn't really as if there was room for improvement. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (and even without Young) may not have recorded many albums, but they certainly are artists of the most true kind. Their forte was in their composition and delivery of their songs, with a mixture of voices that blended in unsurpassed harmonies. No other group of artists contributed so much to the genre of Rock music, with so little output. Yes, little output. All told, this group has only put together a handful of albums. And when I say handful, I mean just that - this quartet only released five albums, and one of them is of a live concert.
