They Might Be Giants. Perhaps the most diverse band of all-time. I mean, who else have managed to deliver everything from polka and techno in such style? They combine their now-trademark offbeat melodies with weirdly wonderful lyrics set to all manner of backing: while their focus has always tended to lean towards the "alternative rock" side of the spectrum, everything from folk to R'n'B has been given the TMBG treatment.
