Disconnection notice was the fifth album released by the punk band goldfinger, it takes on a much political, animal rights view in terms of lyrics than any of their previous albums have and this does make some of the songs however I can be a bit too much if your not really bothered about animal rights and all that. The first song, my everything kick the album off nicely, it has a great guitar opening and is quite rocky even though its quite softly sung and the melodic chorus is also very nice sounding as well. Goldfinger has been active as a band now since 1994. I first heard the music of this band back in 1999 through playing the Playstation game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater; I was not at all disappointed and this did in fact lead me to buying the bands 'Hang-Ups' album shortly after. In February 2005 the band released its fifth studio album in the form of 'Disconnection Notice', a twelve track offering of pop punk which is put across quite well by the band. This is by no means the best album that Goldfinger has ever released as a band; it is however an album that contains a number of interesting and energetic songs that are always good fun to listen to. Been a big fan of Goldfinger, and having seen them live 3 times, and yes, they are as lively as their music - fantastic live artists! I felt it right to do a review on the last album of theirs i purchased... Goldfinger are on the Maverick record label and it's been 9 years since their first album was released.
