      Disney CD

I swore to myself that I would never be one of those parents, the one that buys a kids CD with a ton of annoying songs on it that make you sing all the words to the wheels on the bus/Old McDonald/etc/etc but here I am, the proud owner of Disney's Greatest Hits. However, I am a huge Disney fan and I absolutely love these songs so even though they are for kids they bring back so many happy childhood memories for me and is a CD I can really listen to in my kids when the kids are along for the ride.

What I love about Disney songs is that they are always upbeat and fun and ones you can really sing along with. There are always lots of musical instruments featured in the songs and good singers. There are so many classics on this CD that are quite old as well as some new Disney songs as well. The thing I like about these songs is that they take you back to a time when life was a bit simpler and honest and these are songs that have really stood the test of time. This CD was released in 2005.

Listening to them is so much fun because it really does transport me back to so many fun days spent at THe Disneyland park in California. These songs are the ones you will hear all around you when you immerse yourself in Disney culture and life. It's innocent and fun and its the kind of music that I really like my kids to listen to.

The CD itself actually features three CD's which are all packed in a plastic CD case that folds in three, allowing you to store all of them safely and securely. We have now actually added these CD's to our iPods so I just play it in the car through my iPod that is plugged which keeps the CD"s stored but nice and protected should you need them again. The CD"s were easy to add to the iPod and went on easily first time.

The cover of the CD is really lovely. It features Mickey Mouse playing a gorgeous Grand Piano and with pictures of all your other favourite characters such as Simba, Bambi and Snow White.

I think the flow of the songs is good although at some points in the CD you get quite an upbeat song and then it is followed by a slower song so you have to readjust your singing voice and dance moves to slow down a bit, very important when you have small kids listening to this with you.

        brilliant music for all ages

This is the magical world of childrens film music. This has been going for years I had a tape of this when I was a child and have many memories of listening to this. When they bought this out again on cd the other christmas I had to buy it for my children because they love the films so much. This time it had got some added music that my tape didn't have and bought back memories for me.

This cd holds some classic disney songs like a whole new world from Aladin which is one of my favourite songs and circle of life from lion king sung by Elton John, both of these songs I sung in the choir when I was 11. Also the theme tune to fantasia and snow whites its off to work we go which brings back memories of my friends farther who passes away and had them played at his funeral because he was a big disney lover.

Every song you hear on this cd you can match with the film that it was produced for and will remind you what is in the film. It makes me get the films out to watch with the children. I do not listen to this cd very often and usually comes out at christmas time. The music is magical just like the films.

This cd comes with 3 cds that have 15 to 20 songs on each and you can never fail to enjoy all of them. On the front of the case it has a picture of Mickey Mouse who is disneys biggest charactor and there are pictures of some of the other charactors from the other films that have been made on a dark background surounded by start that gives it that magical feeling that disney are best known for.

This is an all round cd for childrens film lovers and the children enjoy it too. I have found it is brilliant to sing along to and that I can remember all the words to the songs. My children love to sing and dance along with me to this cd and we all have alot of fun listening to it.

          delightful

A rather bold three disc compilation, collecting some of the best known and loved songs from the the Disney films. The films appeal to all ages and it can be argued that Disney is a staple part of most children's diets when they are being introduced to movies. There are 60 songs on here, so I have highlighted some which mean something to me.

It begins with the wonderful 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' by Elton John. The song is so powerful and moving and it is capable of bringing a tear to the eye. John has never sounded so emotional and committed and he really does the song justice with a superb vocal full of raw emotion.

'A Whole New World' is pretty good, thanks to a soulful turn from Peabo Bryson, who lifts the quality of the track. On the subject of soul, 'Colours of The Wind' by Vanessa Williams is a delight. Her vocal is poised delicately yet manages to carve out such sincerity from the lyrics.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, 'The Bear Necessities' by Phil Harris & Bruce Reitherman is a gem. Comedic and insightful, the song is playful with the melody and reminds you how fun the 'Jungle Book' film actually is. On the subject of fun, 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' is sung to a tee by a prim and proper Julie Andrews. Her grasp and precision of the words is superb and it is an amusing little ditty.

Elton John returns to do another track, 'Circle Of Life' is another fine emotional outpouring, all anthemic and worldy. Less successful is the A Teens doing a song from Lilo and Stitch, which sounds overtly cheesy. I do like 'Cruella De Vil' by Dr John, which is one to play when you have that wicked aunt or mother in law around!

Some real classics are included in the form of 'The Beautiful Briney Sea by David Tomlinson & Angela Lansbury. Both turn in robust vocals and add a certain quaint charm to the song. While 'The Aristocats' by Maurice Chevalier delights with an air of sophistication and swagger.

This is a fine collection, with most bases covered, also helped by some lovely cover artwork.
