The first album I bought when I was 15 years old and 3 years after it was released. The reason I bought it? I saw the video for Walking On Broken Glass and I just knew this woman could sing. I had to that point never heard of Eurythmics except maybe for Sweet Dreams but I didn't know of all the other songs.

Annie Lennox is without a doubt one of the greatest singers that Britain has produced. Forget your Amy's and Duffys. The depth and richness of Lennox's voice is like warm honey. For the songs themselves, well I couldn't find any flaws on the album. The opener Why will always be the song people know from Annie's solo career, the lyrics, the music and the melody are just so good, it is probably one of the best songs ever written. Broken Glass is just so much fun, the lyrics maybe slightly dark but the music is just joyous. My favourite song on the album is probably The Gift. The album also had a great video album with a video for nearly every song. It's just a pity Love Song For A Vampire was recorded after the album as it is also a great song. This is the first album by a female artist to get best album at the brit awards and to date only 2 other female singers have done that. If you want to hear some good songs by a great voice then buy this or even better still by her collection out next month.
