down by expensive grants, the need to be seen in label clothing, and pacified by indie music. British Music, like university, has become a sterile right-of passage. A bit of Van Halen would soon get them kicking down the doors of Number Ten and the Whitehouse! Where are the guitar riffs these days in British rock music? Why are those strings not being bent in anger anymore? You can see it in the eyes of the Britpoppers on MTV that they would much rather rock out and get some sweat dripping of their floppy fringes than continue with the elevator indie they are churning out in the not so noughties. this was their cover of 'You Really Got Me' and the reason it wasn't on here was simply because it was a cover. This CD stars Eddie Van Halen on guitar, the master, and singing is David Leee Roth - before he left the band - and the recording is taken from a range of other recordings and digitally remastered. A great CD if you are either already a fan or if you have heard a few of their songs and are interested in hearing more. Van Halen play mainly rock with amazing guitar solo's from Eddie. Their songs range from some really heavy rock stuff right to some really nice, calm ones like 'Right Now', 'Jump' or 'Dreams'. Eddie ...

A couple of tracks are reasonably enjoyable, competent musicianship. The band attempts nothing new here, the music is bland and the vocal tone depressing.

The music is intelligent, the musicianship fantastc. Little use of vocals, only seven tracks.
