After being a big fan of the bands first 5 albums then hearing the mega hit 'Iris' i didn't want to keep my hopes up for this album and i'm glad i didn't as it is a decidably mixed bag. Gone are the Messy distorted but tuneful riffs, punky stylings and rough production style and in there place is a more streamlined song writing style and shimmering producion favoured by just about ever single American band of the late 90's, giving the album a distinctly watered down feel. It's not all bad though as John Rzeznik remains a fine song writer and this shines through on occasion, especially on the scratchy riffs of 'Bullet proof' and the the epic album ... Yeah you've guessed it another music review. This time on the band Goo Goo Dolls and their wonderful album Dizzy Up The Girl. Hope you enjoy. Who are Goo Goo Dolls? ------------------------ Goo Goo Dolls, are an American rock formed in New York in 1986. The band first members were John Rzeznik and Robby Takac and together they have produced a staggering nine albums, and now have been going for over twenty years. There best album however came out 10 years ago, however it was an album that nearly didn't happen as Rzeznik had a severer case of writer's block and until he was asked to produce a song for the City Of Angels soundtrack, he was seriously ... I feel quite hypocritical writing only about 'Dizzy up the Girl' but at the moment, its the only Goo Goo Doll album that I own due to lack of funds. i bought it a year ago and I absolutely love it. I can't believe that hardly anyone in this country had ever heard of them, but when you say "You know, that Iris song from 'City of Angels'" They seem too catch on! I didn't buy this album on the strength of Iris, I bought it after buying the 'Slide' single (which still rates as one of my favourite songs ever) and I wasn't disappointed. Every track has an appeal, starting with the rocky and inspiring 'Dizzy' then ... Read the complete review

People might wonder why i am writing about this album...the answer is its awesome, no matter how old it is! Goo Goo Dolls, the classic rock American band. They look good (okay, i'm biased, i have a thing for John!) they sound great...and like always, have a very small following in the UK. All the best US bands are ignored here, thats my theory :o) The Goo Goo Dolls, for those who dont know, are John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and Mike Malinin. Brought together ten years ago in Buffalo, New York, the Goos have been going from strength to strength. This, in my humble opinion, is their best album yet. I bought the album after listening to the song ... Read the complete review

Well, I already wrote this once, so don't expect it to be as good this time! (It all got reset!) Goo Goo Dolls - when I borrowed this album off of a friend, I guess I was little sceptical, I mean, who were this group with the weird album cover? Anyway, to say the least, I was pleaseantly surprised. When I listened through the songs, I not only realised that I knew a few of them (for example, Broadway and Iris) I also came to realise that I actually really liked the album! This is coming from someone who up untill a few months ago had only looked as far as the pop genre in the music world. Take it as a compliment. A big compliment. The music was no particular ...
