Hmmm...the Truby Trio. I see cardigans. I see trombones. I see warm beer in plastic glasses in suburban church halls on the Methodist youth club social night. I see gently tapping toes in brogues as somebody’s chaperone uncle curls sweet-smelling pipe smoke from behind a trestle table. The CD spins. So what have we here? Some sax. A few smoky sounds to start. But no discernible trad jazz banjo. We have bongos. Congas. Samples. A voice.......and a good slab of abstract machine funk. The Truby Trio.
