Although you may not know their name, I'm pretty sure that if you are a regular radio listener than you will have heard the song 'Apologize' over the past couple of months. Featuring legendary rapper and producer, Timbaland, the song in question is by a band called One Republic, an American five piece whose debut album 'Dreaming Out Loud' was released over in the UK on the 10th March 2008. I have to admit that from the get go I wasn't sure whether I really liked 'Apologize' or not; I thought it had a very earthy texture to the overall sound but lyrically, it wasn't as strong as the music. Plus there was the fact that it was a bit too 'poppy' for me; I like my ... Read the complete review

I've had this album on my computer for awhile now, so I thought I'd finally review it. Please take the time to have a read. Who is One Republic? ----------------------------------- Formed in Colorado, One Republic shot to fame with their song Apologize in 2007 and went onto sell seven million singles of this song, and it became the most legally downloaded song ever. The band at the moment features: Ryan Tedder (lead singer, guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums) Zach Filkins (Guitar, vocals) Brent Kutzle (Bass Guitar, Cello, Vocals, Keyboard) Drew Brown- (Guitar, Bass Guitar) Eddie Fisher- (Drums) ... There cant be many people who haven't heard the fruit of Timbaland and One Republic's labour in the form of their huge single Apologize. Now arrives the ballad heavy debut album from One Republic, with more input from current hitmaker Timbaland. Lead singer Ryan Tedder is now no stranger to success, having penned Leona Lewis' nerve grating single Bleeding Love. So whats so surprising about this album is that their is so much outside input into it. Say (All I Need) opens the album with a nice slice of R'n'B which allows the band to incorporate their own dramatic backdrop and asides to God. But the backbeat of Timbaland is patently obvious. Ryan's voice ... Read the complete review

This album has been out for quite a long time now, i bought it a few weeks ago quite cheap but i certainly don't regret buying it. i had heard of One Republic before but i never really listened ot any of the songs. i had of course heard of the 'Apologize' remix by Timberlake. I had not however heard many of there other songs very often. However when i put this song onto my itunes i was addicted. I played there album so many times. Every song is unique, 'stop and stare' is a fantastic song however i quickly loved there other songs 'come home' is another favourite i like of theres. Each song shows a different passion, a needing. This album is so unique and ... Read the complete review

I heard one song "Someone to save you" a few months back on the radio and I thought it was great, but never knew who it was by, then I heard a few more songs featured in an episode of Smallville (which always features great music by relative unknown bands) and I thought they were awesome, so I had to look them up and find out who they were, it was "One Republic". I knew I liked a few of the songs, so I thought I'd chance buying the album, but I was thinking, like on so many albums today, that other than the featured radio promotion songs, the rest of the album would probably be rubbish, but I am thrilled to say I was wrong. The whole album is ... Read the complete review
