Rating:

Advantages: Excellent single releases

Disadvantages: Some filler tracks

After periods of being The Southern Death Cult and Death Cult the band finally decided to cut it short and become simply 'The Cult' - and this is their first album release
Overall a good album, though rather patchy. The high points are the single releases - 'Spiritwalker' (the most danced to record in the club I went to in the 80's!), 'Resurrection Joe' and 'Go West'.
Less strong are the slower tunes that expose Ian Astbury's limitations as a vocalist.
Overall a good buy but you may find you play some of the songs far more than the others

This really does need a little more work, I'm afraid. The points you make are pretty good, but you need to illustrate them a little better.
