Advantages: great songs

Disadvantages: none

Drunken Lullabies was released in 2002 but the band Flogging Molly who is an Irish American punk band who are a seven piece band compiled of mostly Irish men but also some Americans too, however the singer does have a very distinct Irish voice.

The first song off the album, called after the album, drunken lullabies starts off really well, it starts kind of slow but then gets really fast. Then the singing comes in and even though the songs is really fast it still has a kind of slow sad thing about it, however the contrast is that the instruments are so up beat.

What's left of the flag is the second song as is truly amazing, the lyrics are just top notch and it's a very nice song at the beginning and then it just gets better and better as it goes along, gets more instruments and gets faster and faster, until it turns into a proper fast punk song, its great.

If I ever leave this world alive may just be my all time favourite song from flogging molly its just because the lyrics are so nice and he sings it very well and it shows off his voice very well too. The song does get going a bit through the middle and the end sections but it still remains quite slow compared to a lot of their others but this is something that I really like about it.

Rare Ole times is another really slow song by the band, its not one of my favourites from them but its another great one which shows off what a distinctive but great sounding voice he has, and its about Ireland and so its good to hear singing about where they are from.

Track Listings:

Drunken Lullabies

May The Living Be Dead (In Our Wake)
If I Ever Leave This World Alive
Kilburn High Road
Rebels Of The Sacred Heart
Swagger
Cruel Mistress
Death Valley Queen

This is a great punk album, it may not be for every one though but has some great songs if your into fast up beat punk or quite slow punk, if you're a fan of Dropkick Murphy's then you should like these, they are quite similar but id say these have some slow ever songs too and better lyrics than Dropkick Murphy's.

Summary: wicked punk album

Flogging Molly are one of my all time favourite bands! Though they're always 100 times better live. Nice review
