I like to think of dubstep volume 5 as an introduction to newcomers on the scene. Chances are you haven't heard of it so let me explain. Dubstep is a type of dance/race music mostly played at raves. Dubstep tends to be a little less hardcore than pure drum and base mainly to the fact that the bassline fluxuates in a wierd way that is unique to dubstep. It has recently picked up speed over the last few years though is still widely unkown.

This is why I say that if you are a newcomer this album is for you. The song are less pure dubstep instead in corperating more features of drum and bass and a little grime. There is more MCing than on most dubstep mixes but is still a brilliant album.

The songs blend extremely well and you can tell that the mixing on the album was done very well. Personally, I was expecting more pure dance music but at a mere 8 quid this album was a complete steal so I'm not complaing - not least because of the sheer amount of music you get for your money.

I would definately recommend this, however, at the minute dubstep is still a very niché market and can get very tedious if you're simply listening to it. So buy it on two conditions: 1. You know you like the type of music dubstep falls into and 2. Make sure you bring it to your next party as it is not the type of music to listen to for chilling purposes.
