      A lovely collectors item

Kishore Kumar has been called as One man Industry by many Hindi film personalities. He was one of the most versatile personalities who combined acting, directing and composing songs with singing. He was an amazing singer who could sing any kind of song with ease. He started his singing and acting career in the late 40's and continued to sing till the 80's until his death in 1987.... Asha bhonsle can be termed as Kishore's female counterpart, as she was/is equally talented .She has a lovely melodious voice.Asha is a trained classical singer, she has experimented in all fields of singing be it a Cabaret song, a heavy Ghazal or a romantic duet. She is easily one of the best female singers of Indian Film Industry ever. She has been singing since the 1940's and continues to sing till today..quite an achievement that!!! When Kishore and Asha sing together it is pure magic, and this set of cds has the best of their duets, among the vast number of duets that they have sung together.. They first sang under the direction of composers like Anil Biswas, O.P.Nayyar , who probably got the best out of them other than R.D.Burman, who was Asha's husband and, of course S.D.Burman. This collection has a wide range of songs covering the fifties, sixties , right upto the eighties .. A fantastic collection of songs in my opinion, well worth having in one's collection. My own favorites include every single song from CD 1 which has all the popular number from the fifties and sixties and a few from the early seventies.. the next CD has a collection of mostly the seventies and eighties songs, a good many numbver of R.D.Burman songs and Lakshmikant-Pyarelal, who both have got some of the best songs out of the pair...
