Marmaduke duke are a fairly new band, and although I hadn't heard of them until the released of their second album, Duke Pandemonium I had heard of the band Biffy Clyro and this is the same lead singer of both the bands, I'm not sure then why he's started another band instead of recording the songs with his other band however marmaduke duke does seem to have a more modern sound to it, their songs are fast paced, modern instrumented pieces. silhouettes is one of the two songs that stand out for me on this album, which is sadly an album that is just packed full of mediocre songs, this song is quite slow the way through however does have a nice beat through out ... Marmaduke Duke are Simon Neil's side project from Biffy Clyro, this album is a listen to if you like Biffy Clyro since their next album isn't due out for a while. I loved the single they released Rubber Lover with its quirky lyrics and upbeat tempo, the rest of the album doesn't quite follow on as I expected. It's still very quirky (as you can imagine from the song titles below) but the other songs are much more downbeat and border on depressing. The album took a few listening to's until it grew on me, and I like it buts its not a great album and its no where near as good as the stuff released by Biffy Clyro.
