I was disappointed to find that this album meant Electronic Sky Church Music (on another website) as personally I always liked to think the title meant ‘Escapism’ (on the ESC = escape basis) and that would be a perfect title, because that’s what this album is. It’s perfect music if you want to drift peacefully away into a sleep; more trance inducing than trance. ‘ESCM’ is BT (Brian Transeau)’s second album, the first was ‘IMA’ (which practically invented trance) and the last was ‘Movement in Still Life’ (henceforth MiSL, a brilliant collection of breakbeat, trance, drum & bass, hip-hop and ... I bought ESCM second-hand on cassette for the bargain price of £6.00. Previously, I had heard great things about this album; and keen to get into, and explore new artists of the trance genre, I decided that this would be worth my time (and money). Eagerly, I got home and put the tape straight on. I knew that BT is not a conventional artist, he always experiments and so I didn't expect standard Corsten-style "euro" or even "progressive" trance music from my purchase. I was surprised though; this album certainly seems very spiritually-based, and clearly the music involved does not fit under the title of ... Read the complete review

ESCM. Or Electronic Sky Church Music.... A weird title for an album none the less, but maybe thats just part of Brian Transeau's attitude (BT). The reason I like BT so much is because his music is so unlike anything else you will hear, anywhere else. He has churned out fabulous songs, such as Blue Skies and Flaming June. The music varies alot, from song to song. Some are more energetic, some are not so, but each track is of a consistently high quality, unrivalled in my opinion by any other electronic artist. This album is no exception, and follows on from the first, Ima. True, they are quite similar, but this is ok, as long as he remains ... Read the complete review
Products similar to E.S.C.M. - BT
3LW - 3LW
Too much pop
Ram It Down - Judas Priest
Heavy, fun and stupid.
Still hasn't shaken off the synthetic drums and tendency to write cheap pop songs.
Reroute To Remain - In Flames
Continuing to evolve the melodic death metal genre (for better or worse).
Repetitive, generic and stilted sound.
Screaming For Vengeance - Judas Priest
Commits itself to a heavier and more intense sound, and succeeds admirably.
Weaker attempts at pop-metal remain.
Silver Spoons And Broken Bones - Stone Gods
Some stomping 1980s style pop-rock tunes
Some really awful lyrics.
The Black Halo - Kamelot
Consistent, good atmosphere.
Dull and samey.
The Fourth Legacy - Kamelot
More confident and focused release, boasting great variety.
Inconsistent, and ballads are quite dull.
Tribute To The Gods - Iced Earth
Many rock and metal favourites.
Disappointingly obvious selections, and no attempt to make the sound their own.
Turbo - Judas Priest
Great vocals, impressive guitar work and some effective use of synthesisers.
Too many bland and occasionally annoying pop-rock songs.
Unleashed In The East - Judas Priest
Impressive performance of many early Judas Priest classics.
Original release is lacking in quantity, and some favourites are always going to be missing.
