In a way, Beyond the Sixth Seal are an American band pretending to be Scandinavian, as even the seemingly local hardcore influence of their Boston background is indistinguishable from much hardcore-influenced death metal, though the band's primary project the Red Chord explores the metalcore angle much further (which is why I'm staying away). Beyond the Sixth Seal seems like a basic homage to Swedish melodic death metal of the bassy variety played by Amon Amarth, as opposed to the light and jolly lead guitar melodies of many of their contemporaries, but as there are only a couple of songs that sound in any way worthwhile - and these for only being of ...
