EAT ME, DRINK ME..listen to this? actually yes. As a long time fan I was really looking forward to getting my hands on the new album, and I must admit I was disappointed AT FIRST with his latest offering. There is always a change in 'theme' if you like from one album to the next, for example compare 'Mechanical Animals with 'Holywood' and there's distinct changes. Just when you think you know where your at he changes direction once again. Anyhow I got my new album of good old eBay for about £8 Brand New (the special edition no less) EAT ME, DRINK ME. Hurriedly unwrapped it and whopped it on wondering what delights awaited ... Read the complete review

Rating:
Marilyn Manson invites you to 'Eat Him, Drink Him' with his seventh studio release, and more importantly he hits the nail on the head with a unique blend of industrial, techno, metal and not forgetting a sizable slab of goth too. This is no doubt his best effort since 1998's Mechanical Animals and this album marks a real return to form with a smooth and well sized set of tracks which slot together much more effectively than his previous couple of efforts. The opening If I Was Your Vampire is a great track in itself, but it more so provides a powerful opening anthem leading into the heart of the album with a heavy yet melodic touch. ... This was always going to be a problematic album for Manson- after releasing a Best Of (-in this case in the form of the optimistically titled 2004 release "Lest We Forget") the pressure is always on an artist to reinvent themselves and do something new and challenging. That unspoken expectation was perhaps particularly significant with a band like Marilyn Manson, who have dramatically changed their musical direction and band image from release to release- and most notably for their last proper album The Golden Age Of Grotesque (for which Manson created a whole body of themed work- including paintings, burlesque events, etc). So in listening to this ... Read the complete review

"Eat me, drink me", a title that just says it all. The first thing I thought of when I heard this was that this album just sounded creepy, creepy. But once I looked past the slightly creepy singing and lyrics. I found a new respect for Marilyn Manson that I have never had before. I was a fairly new listener to Marilyn Manson's work, when I first heard "Eat me, Drink me". I had heard a few of his songs, from previous albums and I was instantly attracted by his unique lyrics. So when I first listened to "eat me, drink me" I had fairly high expectations of this long awaited album and was expecting the same hard rock style of his ... Read the complete review

EAT ME, DRINK ME is the title of hard rock American artist MARILYN MANSON's album. The album contains 13 tracks. The opening song IF I WAS YOUR VAMPIRE is a powerful starter with epic instrumental work that needs to be turned up loud with strong vocals and decent lyrics. PUTTING HOLES IN HAPPINESS tells a fun story through the lyrics while shows an attitude of aggression that runs through the album. THE RED CARPET GRAVE is a chilling song with the guitar on fine form and a superb chorus full of energy and sung with vigour. THEY SAID THAT HELL'S NOT HOT has a corking intro which introduces th vocals that are terrific ... Read the complete review
