Eric Clapton Unplugged - Eric Clapton
by Jazz_Samm - written on 20/12/09 (Very useful, 12 readings)
Rating:
Year, Best Rock Male Vocal, and Best Rock Song. It has been placed #71 in the top 100 greatest British albums by Q magazine. It only contains 3 E Eric Clapton written songs, it contains 2 of Robert Johnson songs. There are 14 tracks but 3 or 4 songs were played on the night that are not included in the album or DVD. The album contains only 9 different performers. It has made it to number 1 in the American charts and sold over 10 million copies. The album, a collection of traditional, original and cover songs is one of Clapton s most renound and best chapters of his musical life thus far. Apparently you can get it for £5 off Amazon. The audio makes you feel as ...

I haven t come across many albums that consist of someone completely covering someone elses songs. The whole disk is regimented, up tempo and obviously contains very little improvisation at all. Eric s voice, although wonderfully ear pleasing, doesn t get pulled around and altered like Robert s did all those years ...

and prosperous career. From The Cradle takes EC back to his blues roots from which he came, and should please the long-time devotees who may have grown disillusioned that Eric had lost his blues style in favour of the modern technological synthetic instrumentation. If anyone fears the above, fears that Clapton has stepped away from blues, then listen to From The Cradle...although Riding With The King will offer a more up-to-date refreshment with Clapton's blues roots. From The Cradle was recorded in 1994 and remains one of his best albums to date, despite the other blues releases that have followed From The Cradle remains the best of them all. The album ...
