Pilgrim - Eric Clapton
by Lakerfanster - written on 05/10/08 (Very useful, 86 readings)
Rating:
Introduction Eric Clapton is widely regarded as one of the best guitarists of all time with decades of musical success. Over the years he has played with some of the biggest musicians around and recorded hundreds of songs in several different styles. Although he has always had the guitar talent his vocals have improved and ever since the late eighties he has had a fine voice in my opinion. Pilgrim marks a new direction in Eric Clapton s music with a more modern feel but still keeping that sensational guitar talent that we have come to expect from him over all styles. He experiments with new sounds and drum machines on this album but it is still unmistakably Eric ...

Reptile - Eric Clapton

Rating:
On the 17 of March 1991, the affectionately known, ‘Slow Hand From Surrey’, Mr Eric Clapton released an album entitled ‘Reptile.’ No, not a collection of songs denoting our scaly skinned friends but a very personal and affectionate album dedicated to his uncle Adrian, who died a year before this album was produced. Clapton is renown for reflecting on his roller coaster life through his music. Using personal highs and lows throughout his life, he has brought us insight, wisdom and inspiration over his extensive career proving to us that his a human being with ups and downs just the same as the rest of us. This album is purely based on that reflection. Each song, ...

and prosperous career. From The Cradle takes EC back to his blues roots from which he came, and should please the long-time devotees who may have grown disillusioned that Eric had lost his blues style in favour of the modern technological synthetic instrumentation. If anyone fears the above, fears that Clapton has stepped away from blues, then listen to From The Cradle...although Riding With The King will offer a more up-to-date refreshment with Clapton's blues roots. From The Cradle was recorded in 1994 and remains one of his best albums to date, despite the other blues releases that have followed From The Cradle remains the best of them all. The album ...
