All parts are played by Ed on his purple electric violin, using a variety of techniques aside from his bow, such as finger-tapping, slides, tremolos and other techniques. I'm not a violinist myself, but as a guitarist I recognise many of this techniques (tho...more

Rating:

Ed Alleyne-Johnson is an artist you're either familiar with, or have never heard of. Apparently he has recently had significant airplay on Radio 2, (though I couldn't vouch for this having not heard him on the station). I myself stumbled across this talented musician one day when I was wandering around Chester and heard what I thought was an small orchestra busking near the Cross, (for anyone unfamiliar with Chester, the Cross is a favourite spot near the City-centre for buskers of all kind). Just Dreaming - Crematory
More convincing doom metal performance. Industrial elements clash.

Knives Don't Have Your Back - Emily Haines And The Soft Skeleton

Last Night In Town - Every Time I Die
An incredible album of metalcore, fine vocal and instrumental work. Complex song structures may put some listeners off.

Last Sunset - Conception
Enjoyable early power metal, with great vocals. Progressive touches sound forced and not too impressive.

Life On Life's Terms - Bedlight for Blue Eyes
The vocal range on display here is excellent, the guitar hooks sublime. If you don't like the vocal sound of Fall Out Boy then you probably won't like this.

Life Will Kill You - Clawfinger
Heavy Metal - 2007

Live It Out - Metric
The charisma of Emily Haines, half the songs The other five songs, the lyrics are really hit-and-miss

Love Actually - Soundtrack

Lyfe Change - Lyfe Jennings
Couple tracks Never gets started

Live (At The Out The Dark Festivals) - Crematory
Songs benefit from the live energy and raw performance. Frequent interludes are distracting.
