When playing Elect the Dead for the first time, it was instantly obvious that Tankian has decided to continue with the traditional SoaD sound rather than taking a softer approach which would have perhaps alienated some of the SoaD fanbase. As a result, the opening track 'Empty Walls' represents an up-tempo start which would sound at home on any System of a Down album.

Although I do have a fairly eclectic taste in Music, one of my all time favourite bands is System of a Down ('SoaD'), the Armenian/American group who were formed in 1994. In my opinion, the band have created some of the greatest tracks known to mankind, ranging from the awesome 'Toxicity', to the beautifully harmonious 'Aerials'. What I love about their music (apart from the superbly crafted examples of songwriting) is the perfect blend of comedy tracks interspersed with a selection of heavily political numbers.
