... album: 'Krupa' was never as big as it should have been, a frantic breakbeat affair with brassy riffs, tight vocal samples and sum intricate drum rolls to propell it along. 'Ain't Talkin' Bout Dub' was rockier still, electric guitar riffs fused with a reggae tinged vocal, this one cracked the top ten. I also rate 'Raw Power' which notched up the ante even further and was a blistering Prodigy esque workout with a threatening sound. Premium Review Electro Glide In Blue - Apollo Four Forty: Ain't talkin bout this no more (198 words)

Rating:

One of those acts who seem to have been completely forgotten and condemnded to the vaults of time. A shame, as this lot knocked out some fine hits in their shortlived chart spell. Who were they: Apollo 440 are from the UK and made instrumental music with minimal vocal snatches, fusing drum and bass, rock and pop. On this album: 'Krupa' was never as big as it should have been, a frantic breakbeat affair with brassy riffs, tight vocal samples and sum intricate drum rolls to propell it along. Premium Review Good Classic (121 words)

Well not many people will know, that many of their classic dance favourites, were created by this group. "Ain’t talki’n bout dub" anyone? "Krupa"? you probably don’t recognise the name, but any dance guru who here’s the tune will instantly recognise it. This album is available at your nearest music bargain bin around the £5 mark. For any person who likes dance classics or any dance you might want to take a look. This whole album has got a jungle, dance era about it, it really is an old dance style, that has been forgotten. I would only recommend this to a friend if I was sure they would be into it. ...  Read the complete review

Purgatory Afterglow - Edge Of Sanity
Approachable death metal. Too many weak songs and failed attempts to combine genres.

Crimson Ii - Edge Of Sanity
If you liked the first one, you'll probably enjoy this too. Re-treads old ground, and doesn't have its predecessor's charm or talent.

Infernal - Edge Of Sanity
A couple of enjoyable death metal songs, retaining some progressive elements. Weak attempts to return to the old-school, and lazy performance.

A Pleasant Shade Of Grey - Fates Warning
Admirable ambition. Boring, with very few interesting ideas.

Perfect Sym - Fates Warning
Pioneering progressive metal with a distinctive approach. Too many slow songs try my patience.

Awaken The Guardian (cd+dvd) - Fates Warning
Pioneering progressive metal. Rather samey.

Northwind - Falconer
More songs, nice dual guitars, continues established sound. Pretty much the same thing again and again.

Ruun - Enslaved
Effective incorporation of mellow elements into modern black metal. Songs tend towards similarity.

Where At Night The Wood Grouse Plays - Empyrium
Proves the band's folk talents. No metal here, which may disappoint fans.

Wintersunset - Empyrium
Epic folk metal. Slightly overblown and incoherent.
