Unless you slept through 2003, you surely can't have failed to hear a ridiculously catchy offering by The Black Eyed Peas called "Where is the love". Aside from its infectious chorus and funky loop, its lyrics reflect the despair that many people feel when they look at the world today in much the same way as Marvin Gaye captured the spirit of the times in his seminal album "What's going on?". Where is the Love was a huge hit in the UK and worldwide and I have been catching the follow up single "Shut up" quite a lot on MTV, VH1 and my local radio station recently. I really like the eclectic style of rap that the Black Eyed ...

The Black Eyed Peas have experienced an amazing year in 2003. Although in existence long before now, their single Where Is The Love is the first to have broken the mainstream charts. A blinding success, it made the number one single spot in the UK, and then proceeded to stay there for an astounding seven weeks - the first single to do so for 5 years, since Cher's Believe back in 1998. The single, focusing on the atrocities of terrorism and the US-led war on Iraq, featured a cleverly woven rap chorus and the video saw the Peas going to any length imaginable to get their question-mark logo all over towns and cities. Products similar to Elephunk - Black Eyed Peas
Falling Off The Lavender Bridge - Lightspeed Champion
Evil Warning - Angra
Three good early Angra songs.
A bad cover, and no original material.
Evernight - Battlelore
If you like Evanescence, this should be enough to satisfy your low expectations.
An even greater disappointment than their other albums.
End Of The Weakness - Archeon
High quality debut replicating the Children of Bodom sound.
Not as good as the obvious influences.
Ego Trippin' - Snoop Dogg
Lots of hits
A few weaker tracks
El Angel Caido - Avalanch
The peak of Avalanch's melodic/prog/power style, with interesting experiments.
Some songs still seem like filler, especially by comparison to the strong closing material.
E=MC˛ - Mariah Carey
Fun, summery tracks that show a happier side to Mariah
Some filler, songs written in coloquial english
Earth And Sphere - Beyond The Sixth Seal
Competent melodic death metal in the style of Amon Amarth.
Americans can't play melodic death metal.
Eclipse - Amorphis
Skilfully combines the band's disparate styles under a talented new singer.
Over-reliance on slow, gothic rock pieces becomes tiresome.
