Brief Background In 1956, RCA released Elvis' 1st major label release. Until this review, Elvis Presley has not been reviewed on this site. Although this record was not the 1st rock record, it is definitely on the high-water level in terms of importance and relevancy to modern popular music. Instructions On Review Preparation 1. Grease your hair (male and/or female). 2. Grill a banana and peanut butter sandwich. 3. Stretch your hips (or gyrate at your own risk). ################################################### Track Listing 1. Heartbreak Hotel - (bonus track) 2. I Was The One - (bonus ... Elv1s 30 # 1 Hits This album of 31 (strangely) songs was released in 2002 and can now be bought on iTunes for £5.99. Now as some of you know, my musical tastes are varied to say the least and I cannot not review something by Elvis for two reasons; firstly he had a profound impact on me as a boy (6-11), I loved his songs, I loved a lot of his films and I thought he was ultra cool, especially in the '68 comeback tour. Secondly, it is not an understatement to say that his white boy sings black songs early years influenced so many of not only our past and current musicians, but whole genres of music. So, his number ones...not necessarily his ... Read the complete review

Elvis Presley is arguably the most influential music artist of all time. His career was varied and he won adoration wherever he went. His unmistakable voice coupled with his great stage presence made him a fantastic live act which girls and boys, men and women alike flocked to see. Elvis has a vast discography with a huge array of songs. The standard Elvis upheld through the vast majority of his career is stunning, he had good song after good song year after year. As a result, the legacy of Elvis lives on as strong as ever today. Endless compilation albums and other merchandise is produced, released and sold on a regular basis. This particular album is a ... This CD is available from Amazon UK for less than £5 and as an Elvis fan I have to say that it is an absolute bargain. The CD features all 31 Elvis singles that made it to number 1 in the charts in either Britain or America. Although the title of the album is 30 #1 HITS, there are 31 because just as the album was being planned the Elvis Vs. JXL remix of A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION hit the charts, reaching number 1, and so this of course had to be included too. I guess that '31 #1 HITS' doesn't have quite the same ring to it. The songs featured here are the cream of the Elvis crop. We start off with HEARTBREAK HOTEL, which was one of his earliest singles on RCA ... Read the complete review
