ELVIS IS BACK was the first album Elvis Presley recorded after coming out of the army. When he recorded this in 1960 he had not been in a recording studio since 1958 so this album could very well be described as his first comeback. There are some classic songs on this album, including some of my favourites including Soldier Boy, Such A Night, and Thrill Of Your Love.

There have been a number of CD releases of this album over the years but the definitive version has to be the one released on the Elvis Presley specialist label FTD (an offshoot of his main record label BMG) in 2005. In addition to the original track listing this version is a 2 disc set which also features a large number of outtakes, and also additional tracks which are the singles which were recorded at the same recording sessions but which did not make it onto the original album. This is an essential purchase.
